Proof of Concept

For @proofofconcept.show Connect, we presented a series of prototypes inspired by the traditional reflective chamberstick. Obi’s adjustable reflector allows light to be directed, softened, or turned inward, casting a glow that’s warm and ever-changing. Obi can be plugged in or portable.

Designed with circularity in mind, Obi is made from recycled aluminium with a glass diffuser. Its components are easy to disassemble without tools, repairable, and recyclable.

The gentle act of turning the reflector, and the way its two elements meet through a simple ball-bearing mechanism, embody connection in both form and gesture – a tactile nod to the theme Connect.
